Original Oil on Canvas | 24 × 36 in.
Summer Drought captures the richness of a rural landscape at the height of a dry summer. A solitary tree stands at the centre of a golden field, surrounded by layers of warm yellows, ochres, deep greens, and earthy browns. Above, billowing white clouds stretch across a striking blue sky, bringing contrast and openness to the scene.
Johnny’s expressive brushwork gives the grasses and foliage a wonderful sense of texture and movement, while the lone tree creates a strong, quiet focal point. The warm palette beautifully conveys the sun-drenched character of the season.
Vibrant yet peaceful, Summer Drought celebrates the beauty and resilience of the natural landscape—a statement piece filled with warmth, colour, and a strong sense of place.
